The district of Ginza was created by official decree of ruling Shogun, Ieyasu Tokugawa. Due to a massive fire at the beginning of the Meiji Era, it was reborn as a city of brick buildings. Even today, almost 150 years later, there you can find numerous businesses founded in the Edo and Meiji periods which survived the chaos of both natural disaster and war. We introduce some of the most beloved businesses in the Ginza district, each boasting a history of over 100 years. ginza.jp/en/tourist-map
